Rome is an amazing multi-layer city with 2800 years of history still preserved under the modern street level. In the last few years many stunning sites were excavated in the archeological area that surrounds the Colosseum. The Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum are amongst the most visited sites in Rome, we’ll take you beyond the obvious visiting the hidden sites recently opened!
The tour starts with the visit of the Colosseum, the most amazing amphitheater in the world, the symbol of our city that you can’t miss. Here you discover about the shows where the gladiators fought for their lives, how many animals arrived in Rome from far away lands, and how the criminals were sentenced to death.
We visit the Palatine, the hill where the residences of the emperor used to be. Here in the past few years were excavated a portion of the first imperial palace of Nero,
and the beautiful palaces of emperor Augustus and his wife Livia that still preserve incredible frescoes.
Descending to the Roman Forum, the ancient city center of Rome, we tour through the ancient temples and main public buildings of the city while entering in VIP sites transformed through the centuries in beautiful churches with many original paintings still preserved.
By the end of the tour we enter the Forum built by Julius Caesar to increase his own prestige and show off his power to all the Romans. From this area we pass under the modern street to end the tour into another beautiful Forum, the one built by Emperor Trajan.
